About
We are a community of parents whose children are enrolled in the award-winning Korean Dual Language Immersion (DLI) program at Monte Vista Elementary School in La Crescenta, CA. Students participate in a 50:50 program model and receive instruction in Korean for 50% of the day and in English for 50% of the day. We believe this program leads to high academic performance, fluent bilingualism, and enhanced cultural understanding.
The Glendale Unified School District (GUSD) has proposed a combined 4th/5th split-grade structure for the DLI program beginning Fall 2025 without any details on how it will be implemented. We believe it will negatively impact our children’s bilingual education and strongly oppose this plan. Learn more here.
More than 600 community members have signed a petition asking GUSD to reconsider. Show your support by signing it today.
